Program Highlights
Charge Ready NY 2.0 offers incentives to public, private, and not-for-profit organizations installing Level 2 EV charging stations at workplaces, multi-unit dwellings (MUDs), or public facilities operated by municipal or state government entities. Incentives are provided on a per-port basis:
Key Benefits
- 1. $4,000 per charging port installed at a public facility located within a Disadvantaged Community (DAC).
- 2. $2,000 per charging port installed at a workplace or MUD location.
- 3. Additional $500 per port for eligible equipment installed at a workplace or MUD within a DAC.
How Does the Rebate Work?
- Select Eligible Equipment and Provider
- Choose an eligible charging station and network service provider.
- Application Process
- Pre-Installation Application: Submit required documents to NYSERDA before installation. Once approved, funds are reserved for 180 days.
- Post-Installation Application: Submit all required documents within 90 days of installation completion.
- Required documents include:
- Completed application form
- Building permit or note from the authority having jurisdiction
- Site Host Agreement
- Equipment Owner Agreement
- Installer Agreement (if applicable)
- Itemized quotes for installation
- Installer Agreement (if applicable)
- Site map with aerial view and charging station locations
- Photos of installed equipment, serial numbers, customer support number, pricing, and certification
- Proof of payment for equipment and installation
- Receive Rebate
- Incentives are issued after successful installation and documentation submission.
Tax Credits and Incentives
- 1. Combine Charge Ready NY 2.0 rebates with New York State tax credits for charging station installation.
- 2. Equipment owners may also qualify for federal tax credits.
Where Can Charging Stations Be Installed?
- Public Facilities: Must be located within a DAC. Examples include government buildings, public libraries, and community centers.
- Workplaces: Parking facilities serving at least 20 employees. Employee-only parking lots or areas qualify.
- Multi-Unit Dwellings (MUDs): Parking facilities serving connected housing units (minimum 10 units), such as apartments or condominiums.
